Spanning from December 2nd to December 4th, 2023, the team from the Malaysian Security Evaluation Facility (MySEF) department participated in the MySEF Retreat 2023 held at Lexis Hibiscus, Port Dickson. This annual retreat is generously sponsored by CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) as a means of recognizing and rewarding their dedicated staff every year. Shoutout to the squad who put their heads together, planning everything from where to chill, what to do, and how to spend the budget. Good times!
Lexis Hibiscus was an absolute blast for our retreat this year. Words can’t quite capture how stunning the amenities and views were. As for the itinerary, I’ll drop it here for reference. TLDR: It was definitely a leisure trip! 😉

Day-1 (Saturday 2 Dec 2023)
We decided to head to the Lexis Hibiscus, PD by our own as it is not too far away from Selangor. At 3.00 PM, we checked into Lexis Hibiscus, Port Dickson, kicking off an afternoon of relaxation. After that, we enjoyed a free and easy period, exploring the resort’s amenities or simply unwinding. As the evening rolled in, a delightful in-house dinner took place from 8.00 PM to 10.00 PM, filling the air with enticing aromas. The night reached its peak at 10.00 PM with a lively gift exchange, where we swapped thoughtful token, fostering an atmosphere of unity. Following this, we captured enduring memories through a heartwarming photo session, further enriching our collective experience at Lexis Hibiscus, Port Dickson.
Day-2 (Sunday 3 Dec 2023)
Starting from 7.00 AM in the morning, we indulged in a hearty breakfast, savoring the plethora of food choices available. Undeterred by the rain, from 9.00 AM to 1.00 PM, we engaged in beachside activities, including ATV Rides, Banana Boat adventures, and leisurely Bicycle Rides. The afternoon period was free and easy, with many of us opting to bask in the pool in our rooms. As the evening unfolded, we had dinner on our own, with some of us immersing in solo activities like enjoying the beach nightlife, singing our hearts out at karaoke, and more. At 10.00 PM, we collectively declared it is a wrap for day 2, reflecting on the varied and enjoyable experiences we shared throughout the day.
Day-3 (Monday 4 Dec 2023)
In the morning, we eagerly indulged in yet another delightful breakfast, navigating the tempting array of food choices with the rule to avoid repeating yesterday’s menu. The morning continued with joyous pool moments in our room, marking the last time we immersed ourselves in the refreshing waters before the check-out. At 11.00 AM, we bid farewell to our retreat, completing a journey filled with laughter, shared experiences, and a sense of camaraderie. Reflecting on the entirety of the trip, we can genuinely say that we thoroughly enjoyed every moment and activity, creating lasting memories that will linger with us long after the retreat’s end.
Participating in the MySEF Retreat 2023 was a joy for all of us, and we look forward to even better retreats in the future. This experience significantly enhanced communication and unity among MySEF team members, fostering teamwork and engagement. These improvements are expected to positively impact the future endeavours and performance of MySEF as a department.
